Odds & Ends (19) - Keeping it in the Family

My son has been painting on and off since he was about 8(he's now 10) he started with a few Reaper Bones dragons and other beasties but as he has gotten older he is now interested in Fallout and Blood Bowl(amongst many other things!).

With his pocket money and birthday/Xmas he has acquired quite a few of Modiphius' Fallout range, so I thought I'd show of his painting, first up his Fallout collection:

As he was showing considerable interest in Blood Bowl and being very keen for him to get into it myself I gave him my spare Lizardman team which was well down my queue for painting and over the course of a couple of weeks he has painted and based his first team:

As for actual gaming, he has played a few half's of table top Bloodbowl and plenty on the Xbox,  I have also had him playing Dragon Rampant and Bolt Action both of which he picked up quickly and enjoyed and he has now picked up a 2nd hand Age of Sigmar Lizardman force and has been browsing 3rd party Kroxigors for his Bloodbowl team to replace the current one he's not keen on!

Hopefully it's not just a fad but so be it if it is!(though it would be awesome if he caught the Bloodbowl bug at least!)

Blood Bowl (IX) - A couple more Star Players and some more odd Balls!

Well my annual midwinter unwillingness to paint seems to have finally gone, although it it took the best part of 4 months to pass this time! Partially my own fault for ordering a load(well to me anyway) of mini's all at once which only added to the usual loss of urge to paint I have in winter.

Starting off slowly then, I have managed to finish a couple of Star Players and some new Balls for Blood Bowl:

I have been trying to get my mitts on this mini for about 10 years but since it was OOP it was silly money on E-bay, but following Forgeworlds release of a new version the prices have come down and I got him for less than the cost of the new version.

Not much to this post but I'm just glad to be painting again, and I have almost finished my Gaslands pedestrians and final vehicles which will be the subject of my next post.

Blood Bowl (VIII) - Star Players

Still not really painting much at the moment, I had re-started but then decided to finally finish off my man cave and had to put things away whilst I did the requisite DIY, so I'll post up these that I did late last year.

It's taken me about 30 years but I have finally got a reasonably decent selection of Blood Bowl Star Players for use in my league, not that I ever use them myself but still its nice to have an albeit limited choice

Which leaves just 3 to finish off giving me when complete a full 11 strong all star team, but since hitting my recent no painting spell I haven't been in the mood to finish them off, hopefully as I am now starting to get back into it I'll get them finished.

Blood Bowl (VII) - The Undead

Well I have finally picked my brushes up after almost two months of no painting and I have managed to finish off my Blood Bowl (Shambling)Undead team, that's 5 of 7 finished, so without further ado, here they are(all minis are GW apart from the dwarf with an axe in his head which is from Greebo):

And as I have to have Staff/Side-line figures these days, I did a coach and a cheerleader(minis from Reaper, turn markers etc are GW bits).

With them out of the way I'm determined to clear the stuff on my painting desk before doing anything else, so I am now on with a bunch of 15mm and 6mm fantasy stuff, plus a few Blood Bowl Star Players, oh and some 2mm ECW stuff, all of which will be the subjects of the next few(hopefully more regular) posts.
