15mm Fantasy (XII) - More Bad Guys

Some old and new stuff today, firstly the new which is a unit of Beastmen for my evil Dragon Rampant armies and as generic mooks in Frostgrave (minis from RPE):

and secondly some Magister Militum minis I picked up a couple of years back at Vapnartak in York which I have finally gotten round to painting:

Both units were lazily painted via a base coat, some dry brushing, and then picking out the details and weapons, followed by a wash and a quick highlight mainly on the metal work, still its effective and more importantly quick.

Blood Bowl, more 15mm Fantasy or my Bad Moons next!

Prohibition Era - 15mm Project - (VII) - Civilians - The Gents and a few Cars

Following on from last time, here are the men from Blue Moons civilian pack and some extra cars I picked up from E-bay (for about £5) which match perfectly with my existing cars and the minis. The cars are from Kinder Eggs and are metal and plastic they came in a garish red and bronze colour scheme so I've done a quick repaint:

and the Cars:

That's the end of this project for now until I finally get some additional buildings and more importantly more enter-able buildings!

Not sure whats next, I still have a load of minis I got at Xmas to make a start on mainly Blood Bowl and 15mm Fantasy or I might be tempted by my Epic Bad Moons I'll see what takes my fancy!

Prohibition Era - 15mm Project - (VI) - Civilians - The Ladies

I needed a few civilians for my Prohibition era games as they are an important part of the game play, but Blue Moon only sell the one pack with far more (25) than I needed, however the lack of other options meant I had little choice.

I'm not really complaining though, as despite having far more than I'll ever need; as per the rest of the range they are lovely minis and good fun to paint plus easy and non-uniform which is always welcome especially when I'm only slowing getting back into painting. Another plus is it does give me an excuse to pick up some WW2 Home Guard types and maybe have a "what if" invasion game.

First up is the nice selection of female minis which are a nice change to the predominately male figures most of us gamer's paint, it also gives me a chance to use some of brighter less used paints in my collection:

The Gents are next, along with the repaints of the Kinder Egg cars I found on E-bay.

Prohibition Era - 15mm Project - (V) - G-Men

I am trying to vary up my painting so as to keep my interest up and avoid the major burnout I suffered late last year/early this year. So with that in mind, I turned my brush to doing some more on one of my stalled projects.

Having finally found some suitable vehicles and having a lead on some nice looking buildings, I revisited my 15mm Prohibition project. I also picked up Ospreys "Mad Dogs with Guns" rules which I really like.

Onto the miniatures then all of which are from Blue Moons G-Men pack:

And a few in game shots from my test run of Mad Dogs with Guns:

I'll be doing some of the civilians and the vehicles next but want to get another couple of jobs out of the way first.

15mm Fantasy (XI) - Villagers

I have been looking to add a few villager types to my fantasy collection for while, as they are always useful as objectives/markers/scenery plus I tend to enjoy painting non-uniform miniatures more than uniformed!

The villagers, crates, sacks, sheep etc are from Donnington Miniatures, the chickens and cat are from Pendraken and the dog from Irregular:

I couldn't resist setting up a quick village for a few more pics:

I'm taking a short break from 15mm fantasy whilst I complete 3 other half finished projects, but will be hopefully getting back to and finishing my Orc and Goblin warband soon enough.
