Well this is a bit out of the blue!
Let me explain, Man O War was launched whilst I was on a hiatus from gaming in my early 20's although I was aware of its existence due to having a younger brother who had taken up gaming, and whilst it caught my eye I had neither the time or inclination to pick it up at that point. Fast forward a number of years to when I return to gaming and MOW is just about keeping its head above the waves soon to disappear for ever, but I was too distracted by the shiny new Epic/Blood Bowl and Warmaster stuff to notice its demise.
Since then MOW has always been the game that got away and one of the few Old School GW games I haven't actually played. Every now and again I would browse E-bay and consider buying in, but one thing or another stopped me. However the day has finally come (I blame the Covid Lockdown!!) and I now have the original box set plus both expansions, a bunch of original GW ships and a load of 3D prints.
The first to arrive in these days of haphazard postal services, was a small Khorne fleet, all 3D prints from E-Bay and for around £15.00 in total which considering most original GW ships go for anywhere between £15-£50 each is not bad.
They took a little cleaning up (but overall I'm more than happy with the prints despite them being filament rather than resin which would have been much nicer)and some time was taken making masts from cocktail sticks with some hole-punched plastic card for the fighting tops:
I then sprayed them all white and painted in the main colours before a quick light wash with earthshade. The original GW sail sets can be found online so I utilised these to finish off the fleet:
Bloodship:
Ironsharks:
Deathgalleys:
The Khorne contingent:
2nd to turn up was my original GW Tzeentch stuff, just the two "ships" to which I added another squadron of printed Deathgalleys with the masts set up differently to offer some slight variation.
Winged Terror(which is still a work in progress as I fell out with the Tzeentch stuff!)
Bane Tower(this is the reason i fell out wit the Tzeentch stuff having picked up a "bargain" on E-bay only to find out it was missing two of its towers swiftly replaced by some Brigade models small scale Irish towers:
Deathgalleys(I changed the mast set up for both variety and to fit the only Tzeentchian sail I could find online):
The Tzeentch fleet:
Definitely more MOW next, as I've waited over 20 years for this game and I am currently enthusiastically painting my way through a small Pirate contingent and an Empire fleet.

15mm Fantasy (XII) - More Bad Guys
Some old and new stuff today, firstly the new which is a unit of Beastmen for my evil Dragon Rampant armies and as generic mooks in Frostgrave (minis from RPE):
and secondly some Magister Militum minis I picked up a couple of years back at Vapnartak in York which I have finally gotten round to painting:
Both units were lazily painted via a base coat, some dry brushing, and then picking out the details and weapons, followed by a wash and a quick highlight mainly on the metal work, still its effective and more importantly quick.
Blood Bowl, more 15mm Fantasy or my Bad Moons next!

Odds & Ends (19) - Keeping it in the Family
My son has been painting on and off since he was about 8(he's now 10) he started with a few Reaper Bones dragons and other beasties but as he has gotten older he is now interested in Fallout and Blood Bowl(amongst many other things!).
With his pocket money and birthday/Xmas he has acquired quite a few of Modiphius' Fallout range, so I thought I'd show of his painting, first up his Fallout collection:
As he was showing considerable interest in Blood Bowl and being very keen for him to get into it myself I gave him my spare Lizardman team which was well down my queue for painting and over the course of a couple of weeks he has painted and based his first team:
As for actual gaming, he has played a few half's of table top Bloodbowl and plenty on the Xbox, I have also had him playing Dragon Rampant and Bolt Action both of which he picked up quickly and enjoyed and he has now picked up a 2nd hand Age of Sigmar Lizardman force and has been browsing 3rd party Kroxigors for his Bloodbowl team to replace the current one he's not keen on!
The start of his AoS army:
Hopefully it's not just a fad but so be it if it is!(though it would be awesome if he caught the Bloodbowl bug at least!)

Prohibition Era - 15mm Project - (VII) - Civilians - The Gents and a few Cars
Following on from last time, here are the men from Blue Moons civilian pack and some extra cars I picked up from E-bay (for about £5) which match perfectly with my existing cars and the minis. The cars are from Kinder Eggs and are metal and plastic they came in a garish red and bronze colour scheme so I've done a quick repaint:
and the Cars:
That's the end of this project for now until I finally get some additional buildings and more importantly more enter-able buildings!
Not sure whats next, I still have a load of minis I got at Xmas to make a start on mainly Blood Bowl and 15mm Fantasy or I might be tempted by my Epic Bad Moons I'll see what takes my fancy!

Prohibition Era - 15mm Project - (VI) - Civilians - The Ladies
I needed a few civilians for my Prohibition era games as they are an important part of the game play, but Blue Moon only sell the one pack with far more (25) than I needed, however the lack of other options meant I had little choice.
I'm not really complaining though, as despite having far more than I'll ever need; as per the rest of the range they are lovely minis and good fun to paint plus easy and non-uniform which is always welcome especially when I'm only slowing getting back into painting. Another plus is it does give me an excuse to pick up some WW2 Home Guard types and maybe have a "what if" invasion game.
First up is the nice selection of female minis which are a nice change to the predominately male figures most of us gamer's paint, it also gives me a chance to use some of brighter less used paints in my collection:
The Gents are next, along with the repaints of the Kinder Egg cars I found on E-bay.
